Is it necessary to get registered for using AsiaHawala?

Registering / Opening an account for the service provides additional benefits and lower charges but anyone can walk into any of AsiaHawala Main Dealer, Franchisee, POPs or Customer Service Center to avail different services under AsiaHawala.

For registration is it mandatory that the MSISDN is registered in my name?

For a Standard Wallet with enhanced limits, thresholds and functionalities, it is mandatory that the MSISDN is registered against the customers’ name. The registration to Lite Wallet does not require this check but the customer has to submit the documents within 6 months otherwise the wallet would be blocked. Also the Lite Wallet has very restricted limits and thresholds that will not allow the customer to perform major transactions.

What place should I visit for registration?

A customer can register for AsiaHawala from any of the Shops, Main Dealer or POPs and a customer can also self-register through using the USSD shortcode. In order to register with the Main Dealer or PoP the customer needs to have either of the following: For Iraqi citizens: Iraqi ID ( one of the following: Civil National ID, Citizen card or Iraqi valid passport); Ration card For Non-Iraqi Copy of the passport with visa entry and also the residency card if the person is living in Iraq.

What if I want to get registered via email or fax?

As per rule the subscriber/customer needs to visit any Shop/Main Dealer to register to AsiaHawala Standard Wallet or visit any PoP or self-register for Lite Wallet.

Can I increase or decrease the thresholds for my wallet?

The limits and thresholds cannot be changed for Lite and Standard accounts Is it mandatory for me after registration to cash in directly? The users can register to a wallet and can cash in at any time. It’s not mandatory to cash in right at the time of registration.

What are the charges for registration?

The registration for AsiaHawala is free of charge for the customers/subscribers.

Is there any upper or lower limit of the transaction?

The limits for transactions are as per the approval of CBI. They are as follows: Lite Wallet: Per Transaction No Limit Per Day IQD Per month IQD Standard Wallet: Per Transaction No Limit Per Day IQD Per Month IQD Cash to Cash Per Transaction No Limit Per Day IQD Per Month IQD For all other Commercial Wallets like Main Dealers, PoS, Merchants etc. the limits would be as per AsiaHawala discretion.

Who can make a Money Transfer transaction? Is it for Asia Cell subscribers only?

Any person can make a Money Transfer transaction and send money to another person. The only requirement is that either the sender or receiver has opened up a wallet or the sender or receiver should hold a valid Iraqi ID and submit photocopies of their IDs/passport to AsiaHawala.

Where can I send or receive a Money Transfer from?

For Money Transfer, a customer can approach any AsiaHawala PoPs or Dealers for doing a sending or receiving transaction. Expired Iraqi IDs will not be catered.

What if I want to get registered on the ID of my father, mother any family member’s ID or friend’s ID, will there be any restrictions?

A customer can only register against his/ her own ID.

If I have lost my Iraqi ID, then how the request would be catered? (Any police report or letter from any authority etc.)

In case the customer provides a valid letter from along with the police report for lost ID the transaction request could be catered.

How long does the Money Transfer transaction take? How long does the Receiver have to wait after a Sender has sent money?

Money Transfer sending or receiving is done instantly.

Is there a time limit for me to receive a Money Transfer transaction?

There is no time limit as such. However, it is recommended for customers to claim their money transfer transaction within 30 working days since the transaction took place.

Do I need to have a mobile phone to conduct Money Transfer?

No, there is no mandatory requirement for the sender or the receiver to provide mobile phone number. The benefit of providing mobile phone number is that they will be able to receive the transaction information messages (Asiacell Subscribers only). Secondly this will be helpful in logging complaints and lastly conducting transaction through Mobile Phone can lead to lower charges.

What if there is a delay in money transfer?

If the amount is not received on the other end within 15 minutes while confirmation messages are received, please call our Call Center at 220.

Will I get a receipt or any SMS notification after the transactions?

SMS notification will be sent to the sender and the receiver or the customer at the time any transaction or any leg of the transaction is completed. This is only if Asiacell mobile phone numbers have been provided for the transaction. Apart from the SMS the Main Dealer, Franchisee, POPs or Customer Service Center would provide a signed receipt of the transaction to the customer.

What should I do if I forget my transaction PIN?

Please call the Customer Care or visit the nearest Shop and they will provide the required assistance as per defined SOPs.

What will be the process if I forget the Transaction ID?

The Transaction ID is in the SMS (in case of a wallet holder/Asiacell subscriber) and/or on the receipt (If non-wallet/MSISDN holder for C2C, P2C, and C2P transactions) that an agent gives to the customer after the transaction. The customer must keep this receipt for verification. Additionally, if the customer has forgotten his Transaction ID, he may obtain it by calling the help line after verification and providing the required information.

What if I don’t receive the confirmation message?

The customer should ensure that the phone numbers mentioned on the transaction receipt are correct. He should then call the Call Center at 220 and after verification, the call center agent will confirm the transaction status and if required have the confirmation messages resent.

Who can be AsiaHawala Mobile money account holder?

Any AsiaCell customer with a valid and original Iraqi ID and following KYC requirements can sign up for an AsiaHawala account. Passports with valid visa and residency cards are also acceptable.

What if I do not own an AsiaCell SIM?

In that case, the customer can buy a new AsiaCell connection, either pre-paid or post-paid. In both the cases, the AsiaHawala account will only be opened once the subscriber record is successfully updated with relevant ownership details in the system.

What would be the change of ownership procedure after account registration?

The ownership of the account cannot change under any circumstances. For a SIM with an associated account, the ownership of the SIM cannot be changed until and unless the account is first closed by the owner.

What is the procedure of closing an account?

In case of any account closure, personal or commercial, the balance of the wallet must be checked and if there is any, then you need to cash out and then close the account. In case of company wallet closure, the user wallets linked to the main wallet will be closed too.

If the number is blocked or stolen, then would the account be blocked automatically?

Ideally once a number is blocked by Asiacell, a subscriber cannot access his/her account. If the number is stolen you need to report it to Asiacell immediately in order that to have it blocked along with the wallet.

Can I have more than one Wallet associated to his/her number?

As per rules, there can be only one Wallet per MSISDN. This means that an MSISDN can have one Personal Wallet. A Commercial Wallet holder can open one Personal Wallet against his same MSISDN.

What if I want to block one account and register a new account on another MSISDN?

As long as the MSISDNs are different wallets could be opened on each MSISDN.

Can I have multiple Wallets against multiple SIMs? How many at maximum?

As per rules, there can be only one Wallet per MSISDN. The Wallet will only be associated with one Asia Cell MSISDN except in commercial/business account case, when the subscriber can have multi SIM / accounts, ONE personal and another/many commercial/business.
